COUNT DOWN IS ON!

Where the purple mark is on the map above is where we are staying in New York - The Novotel Hotel in central Manhattan.

Fly out on the 11th April 08 with Qantas to New York for 2 weeks with a stop over in Tokyo and Minneapolis nearly a whole day flying which is OK as Miriam will be travelling with me so having a travelling buddy will be great. I have travelled a few times on my own and on long flights I always get someone that wants to talk, drink, get pisst and dribble to me the whole time and I am so not interested as all I want to do is read, sleep or have just me time. We are going to visit every sight imaginable in New York (so Miriam get your walking shoes ready as we will be footing it everywhere). We also hope to do a day trip to Washington and Philadephia . The city that never sleeps here we come.

So now the trip is all confirmed and booked - we just have to pay for it!!
Must hurry up and renew my passport too - oops.
...................................................
Christmas was very quite as I worked Christmas day and when I got home my good neighbour/ friend Andrea delivered me a delicious hot Christmas meal and dessert (which was Xmas pudding and brandy custard - but by the time she got to my place the dessert had tipped over in her bag, all over the video camera) so what was left of it was delicious- mmmmm.

The local school children came into our office yesterday to sing us a Christmas carol "Jingle Bells" which was really sweet.

FAREWELL MORNING TEA

Tiff receiving her going away present - a stethoscope (she loved it)

The hospital laid out a lovely morning tea for Tiffany as is her last day today at the hospital, moving further up north to work in a town called Onslow, Tiff will be sorely missed by her friends and patients, she was one hell of a nurse always giving 150% to her job I will miss her (especially her meals of wheels she use to deliver to me!!) of course working with her & that laugh of hers. Friendship we will always have.

TIME IS FLYING BY

Gosh last week was November, now Christmas is just around the corner, no time to scratch myself. Christmas catalogues are out, Christmas movies are on TV, Christmas parties have started, I will be glad when it is all over.
........................................

My weight loss has come to a standstill as at this time of the year it is so so hard to be good - though the good thing is that I have just stayed the same from my weigh in a few weeks ago and I will be health conscious from now to end of year but not as strict (come on it's Xmas!) and start afresh new year. I have succumbed to my ice coffees once again in the past two weeks (yeah naughty me!) and I did get off them for 4 weeks so I know I can do it (come on it's Xmas!!)

A BIT OF THIS & A BIT OF THAT.......

WEIGH IN:
Last week lost just over 1/2 kilo, so all up just over 4 kilos in a month, I was hoping for a least a 1 1/2 kilos for last week as I worked really hard but did not happen - oh well it wont happen over night but it will happen!

POOL RE-OPENED:
The pool re-opened last Sunday so I helped out Kelly and Macca and I ran the kiosk for them. It was a good turn out of adults and lots of screaming kids having a good time. Kelly said to me was I going swimming?, I said "thanks but not thanks", especially after seeing snotty nose kids coming up to the kiosk and I spotted a kid peeing in the pool, I'm quite happy with my sprinkler in my back yard!

MY WALKING:
Got back into my walking a few weeks ago and last week I headed out about 5.00pm (which was a no no) as just out of nowhere the real hot weather appeared- we have had just over the 40 degrees in the past week, because of daylight saving, 5.00pm is really 4.00pm, I was in a mass of sweat (I am sure it must of being about 40 degrees that day!) I had hardly any water left, I just wanted to die, and thought do I hitch a ride back into town? No walk tall and stride it home, was I glad to get home!

Received a phone call last night from AC to go walking in the morning, yep sure I am all for it as nothing beats an early morning walk, WELL of course AC piked it (I got a wake up call at 5.00am by Tiff on night shift) but me being the trooper than I am, headed off, WELL what a mistake was that as the flies annoyed the shit out of me the whole walk, my hand was like a windscreen wiper from shooing the little shits away!

FEDERAL ELECTIONS:
24th November is Federal Election Day which I am a Declaration Officer on that day, its going to be a long long day, every time they have elections I swear that would always be my last, but no I always get sucked in. I have fun people to work with so it wont be that bad. This is definitely my last stint doing the elections!

TIFF & BEN:
Leave town in 3 weeks or so, heading up to Onlsow, which is a little town on the coast, north of WA, Ben got a transfer with the Police Dept. Said to Tiff if that was the right move as Onslow is cyclone area and I hear the cane toads were heading down that way!! (Tiff is petrified of frogs!) that still didn't turn her off!

PENSIONERS:
When we send out our annual rate notices, Pensionser and Senior Card Holders get a discount and they are always the first ones in to pay them. Yesterday I realised that I had calculated some discounts wrong so I had to ring 3 of them up to let them know I made an error and so there was still an amount owing. I dreaded phoning them as I knew they were going to blast me for not calculating it correctly at the time (which was understandable) but to my surprise they were all very pleasant and understanding and said they would all be in in the next few days to pay. God bless the pensioners!

FACEBOOK:
I became a facebook user a few weeks ago - but I still prefer and love my BLOG!

LAKE BALLARD

Buba Statue

Mama Statue

Papa Statue

Michaela and myself went out to Lake Ballard near Menzies last Sunday, Lake Ballard is a large salt lake which has about 50 of these life size statues scattered around the lake, the statue steel figures are based on the locals in Menzies, which they had their naked bodies laser scanned producing these stick figure sculptures. Worth taking a drive out there and checking them out also best to head out there early morning or late arvo to beat the heat and the hoards of friendly flies!

DAY LIGHT SAVING

Day light saving is back with us once again, had to forward the clocks by one hour one Sunday morning, which was good for me as I did a night shift at the hospital that night so instead of a 10 hours shift it was a nine hours.

When day light saving came into affect last year I was all for it but now not sure whether I like day light saving or not, we get enough day light without it. I like getting up early in the morning and now at 5.00am it is dark and come evening about 7.30pm, night has just fallen. I don't think it should take 3 years for us to decide whether we want it or not - 1 year is enough for us to make the decision. I think my vote will be no for day light saving.

PS: Weighed in this morning just lost over 1/2 kilo was hoping for a bit more weight to come off but hey slowly slowly, so in 2 weeks have lost 2.8 kilos. I am happy, feel really good in myself, I have more energy now and I am take multi vitiams - which I think I needed. STILL A LONG WAY TO GO! BUT SLOWLY AND SURELY GETTING THERE!!

KATE CEBERANO HEADING OUR WAY

My favourite aussie singer Kate Ceberano will be playing in our town for the Golden Gift Weekend. I love her music, she has a fantastic voice, exotic looks and I have always admired her.

Us girls in the office are ecstatic that she is coming - we can't wait. When John told us that he got Kate Cerberano for June long weekend next year we were like teeny boppers, jumping for joy.

WA SPORT & REC INDUSTRY AWARDS

Ladies of the night! - Kelly & Micheala all glammed up ready for the awards night

You little beauty we won!

Kelly & Micheala attended the WA Sport and Rec Industry Awards night held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex last Friday night. Kelly won the award for Provision of Sport and Rec to Regional WA for the Northern Goldfields Recreation Program. There were 30 applicants for the award and Northern Goldfields Sport and Rec were one of 3 finalist, the other 2 were Masters Swimming and Netball WA . Yeah - Well Done Kelly.

The amazing thing about the photos above is that the girls are in dresses and they look great - what so unusual about that you may ask - well I have never seen them in dresses before, they are pants and shorts girls.

WEIGH IN

Weighed in this morning and I have lost 2.10 kilos - I am so happy. I know it is only the first week and I have a long way to go but after seeing that amount of weight drop off in the first week has made me more determined than ever. I am enjoying drinking my shakes for breakfast and lunch and look forward to my evening meals. Your usual weight loss on this Tony Ferguson program is 1 - 1.5 kilos a week, I am sure I shred that extra weight because of giving up on my bread & beloved Ice Coffee intake, this is my second week going cold turkey and I have only once had a craving for them last week when I was reading in bed and the thought came to me on how nice it would be to have and IC right now - thank god the shops close early around here!

BAD BOY COUSINS

Report from one of the papers:

West Coast Eagles star, Ben Cousins has been released by WA police on bail after being charged with drug related offences. He will appear in court on Thursday.

Cousins has been charged with possessing a prohibited substance and failing to give a blood test. He spent several hours being questioned by major crime squad detectives at Curtain House (WA police headquarters). Cousins was driving in the Perth inner city suburb of Northbridge at about 11.30am when he was pulled over by police.

Cousins' blue four wheel drive was searched for approximately ninety minutes during which time police will alledge they found a quantity of a prohibited substance. The vehicle was later impounded.

I say:

Get rid of Ben, sack him, de-register him from AFL. In the past year he has given West Coast a bad reputation, how many chances can he have? I am sick and tired of listening to West Coast supporters saying how Benny Boy can do no wrong! If he wants to do drugs, then drop him from the team.

THE SNAKE HUNTER!

Yesterday I felt really sluggish, tired and head-achy so I went home a little early, had a few hours sleep and upon waking still did not feel any better (though they did say I would experience dizzy-ness, headaches in the first couple of days of this weight loss program, but I feel 100% better today.

Last night Andrea (The Snake Hunter) bought me over some panadol and as I walked her out to the road I noticed something slithering on the road, I screamed out "snake", Andrea being the brave person that she is, went up to the bloody snake to check it out, I am screaming out to her be careful it might bit you as she had sandals on, I said she had to kill it as I did not want it in my front yard, so I grabbed the shovel and gave to her to chop the bastard in 1/2 as she went to sliced it in 1/2 the bloody thing slithered off into the bushes. The way I carrying on- anyone would of thought there was a murder happening in our street. I know it is the season for snakes to be out about and they wont harm you if you don't harm them , and you shouldn't kill them, blah, blah blah but HEY snakes just send shivers down my spine and when people ask what sort of snake it was - my answer is always who cares what sort it was - as a snake is a snake!!

TONG FERGUSON - DO ME PROUD

I have started on the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program today - with the aim of losing 8 kilos (a kilo a week) by the 10th December.

I have for breaky and lunch one his meal replacement shakes and in the evening a palm size piece of protein plus 3 cups of vegetables which can be cooked or uncooked, plus I can snack on a piece of fruit mid morning and mid afternoon, with diet jelly which I will make as my dessert.

I have gone cold turkey on my Ice Coffee, plus Diet Coke (though I did sneak in a Diet Coke yesterday evening) as they are a no no on this program. I am not into caffeine free diet drinks so looks like the diet cordial for me and plenty of water.

Dear Lord help me survive this.

DUST STORM CHASING!

Drove down to the oval after work yesterday to do my laps, got 1/2 way down the road and I could see this humongous dust storm heading into town, got a bit scared and turned around and bolted home, by the time I got home the dust storm hit our street, I was brave and took some photos (though a little scared as I thought it would pick me up and who knows where I would of ended up, probably at the rubbish tip!

Dust storm hits

Dust storm has passed and heading out yonder!

R.I.P MAINY

Though I am not an West Coast Eagles supporter I am a proud Dockers Girl, I would like to say it has been a sad week with the news of Chirs Mainwaring's death, I was totally shocked when I heard about him last week and thought that this cannot be true. May You Rest In Peace Mainy.

WHAT'S UP

Not a lot, still pretty busy at work as the girl down front has gone away for a week so I have to do her work as well as mine.

The warmer weather is back with us once again - love it, love it love it! The sunshine puts a smile on my face I have more motivation to do things.

This weekend is race weekend, I am working this weekend, so no having a bit of flutter on the horses - oh well think of the money I am saving (the more I save - New York, New York here I come).

Our netball grandfinal is on Sunday and we are playing Leinster here so hopefully it will be a close game as they normally thrash us.

I am a little disappointed about my other blogs mates as they seemed to have died off from blogging, one got me started on blogging and she has not blogged for ages
........................................
Since writing the above:
  • Brownyn has returned to work - yeah now I can concentrate on my own work.
  • We won the netball, beat Leinster by 1 goal - I play Goal Shooter and I was definitely did not shoot well that day, we all play as a team, hey we won and that's all that matters on the day. After the game we went over to the hotel and had a few drinks then Leinster wanted a sculling competition, so I put my hand up to that (1/2 my drinks ended down my top!) Leinster women are the better drinkers that us for sure.
  • Katie Ritchie who plays Sally from Home and Away has announced today she is leaving the show after 20 years, which was her own choice but if I had to get rid of any of them it would be Brad (dork) Rachel (boring) and Cassie (well she just give me the shits) I know its only a TV show!
  • Still disappointed the other bloggers still have not blogged, waiting, waiting................

BACK TO NORMALITY

Eat, sleep and work continuous - that's what it feels like I have been doing for the past month or so but slowly and surely the work load is easing and by this weekend should have my life back!

I have fallen behind in my exercise, my house cleaning, my reading, my relaxing etc. My car is absolutely dirty (red dust) on the outside, did offer for someone to wash my car for $25.00 (not mentioning any names ANDREA!!), I always do it myself but haven't had much time (which I thought is a pretty darn good price) but no wanted $30.00 and I did not budge and I was standing firm on $25.00 anyway I will just have to do it when I get back from Kalgoorlie (even the car wash in Kalgoorlie has closed down). Looking forward to Sunday which I hope I don't have to go into work and enjoy the whole day off, I say I would love to sleep in but I know I won't as I want to enjoy the whole day- yee hah.

PS: Looking forward to getting my gob (really lady I am!!) around a Hungry Jacks Whooper when I'm in Kal .

....................................................

I purchased the new Australian version of Monopoly which I received the other day, it just does not look right - because of the Australian towns and cities on them and the money is different as with the rules too. I am so use to playing the pommy Monopoly. I will have to start playing the Australian version to get use to it - anyone up for a game?

SENIOR 1st AID

Saturday gone we headed off to Menzies for the day to do our Senior 1st Aid, (thank god it was a one day course not a two day one ). We all past with flying colours. The course was great especially when you have a trainer like we did (Megan) who did a fantastic job in training us.

NEW YORK HERE I COME - HOPEFULLY

Lately I cannot get New York out of my brain - I have always wanted to go to New York to see the city that never sleeps. I want to go and experience the hustle and bustle of the city, see all the sites, check out the bars, talk to the locals, shopping of course and maybe bump into a celeb! I am so hoping that someone will come with me as it is nicer when you have someone to travel with - hopefully Odi is thinking about it otherwise I will have to do it on my own. The only problem with flying it is such a bloody long way from Australia, maybe will have to do a stopover somewhere, like Singapore or even Hawaii.

I will have to start seriously savings my pennies now, have been overspending lately and I have nearly everything I need, now it is time for a well earned overseas holiday, hopefully next year sometime.

HAVING A BAD MORNING

Shit, bugger, f--k, darn, help, driving me mad, can't cope, need a ciggie and IC, I am going crazy. My payroll is playing up I have just entered the pays all balanced and now my payroll is saying it is corrupt, (shit, bugger darn) has been playing up for the past 6 weeks, now I have to go an re-enter the whole bloody lot once again, it is so time wasting, no one can help us with the problem as they are fifty thousand miles away!! Oh well back to the payroll I go.

HANDY WOMEN WE ARE!

Tiff bought her husband a massage chair for his birthday but it had to be put together, the massage chair package was left at my place (so Ben would not know). Tiff came around last week and we put it together, well she did and I just helped to hold things together. Tiff wanted to know if I had any tools and I said yes I had one a small screw driver, she laughed at how small it was but it did the trick. It took us an 1 1/2 to get the seat completed. I had to sit in it for a test but was too scared just in case it broke (no not cause of my weight, but just in case we did not screw a part in properly !!) All was good.

I think this goes there!

Testing 1, 2, 3

THE HISTORY OF THE MIDDLE FINGER

Well, now......here's something I never knew before, and now that I know it, isn't history more fun when you know something about it?
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as "plucking the yew" (or "pluck yew").
Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as "giving the bird."
IT IS STILL AN APPROPRIATE SALUTE TO THE FRENCH TODAY!
And yew thought yew knew every plucking thing.

WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT

We had STEPHEN KING the American author pass through our town yesterday, no I don't read his books but I know who he is. So at lunch time I spent 1/2 running around town , how often to we have famous people in our town? - (I think the last time was Elle McPherson! no I lie about that as we have had a few but more Australians than world known ones!) I felt like the paparazzi trying to get a photo of him, but with no such luck as I think he stopped in town for some lunch then headed out again.

GREAT MAGNET

Great fridge magnet I got as a little gift

YEAH FOR THE WARMER WEATHER

At long last the warmer weather is heading our way, you can just feel it in the air now, helle bloody lujah . I always feel much for energetic and now it is time once again (it is never ending!) to get the winter weight off and for it to stay off - 10 kilos to be exact. Went to early morning gym with my mate AC and we did sets of lunges and squats and now I am paying for it with the aches and pains in my legs, but hey that's the joys of the exercise. Oh I forgot to mention that I broke a piece of machinery in the gym - I think it was already broken! - and when I put my foot on it - it just fell off.

WHAT IS TIME?

Time means everything to me, I have to have a watch on otherwise I feel naked or I feel something is missing from my arm and forever constantly looking at the time. I have 2 alarm clocks (not that I take much notice of them in the mornings lately!) but time is really important to me.

Where I live I think time means nothing to some people, for instance we play netball on Saturdays at 1.00pm but most people just walk in dribs and drabs and by the time the game starts it is 1.30pm then we don't finish until about 3.00pm I get really pisst because I could be home doing things instead of having to wait around for people to turn up whenever they feel like it. I feel like turning up at the courts at 1.30pm (as I have keys to our netball courts) and when they get pisst off for having to wait for the courts to be opened then I could say "now you know what it is like for others to have to wait "!

Anyway that's my whinge for the day.

I AM NO ARTY CRAFTY PERSON BUT I TRY!

My Photo Board

My World of Travels

In no way am I an arty crafty person, but I try, above is a collage of photos that I have put together, along with a map of the world of the places of I have travelled to, I still have to add some finishing touches to them.

Last night I was having a look through some old photos, boy did I have a good laugh especially as to what we were wearing, I was into bike shorts, high waisted jeans- (oh my gawd!) I use to tease my fringe that looked like a bloody cocky! At the time I thought I looked pretty cool but now you think how could of I even walked the streets looking like that.

I might post some of my cool (no so now) photos and put them on my blog at a later date.

SPEED DATING

Kelly from the office wanted to know if I was interested in going to LA for "Speed Dating" as herself and Macca were thinking of going over there once they, in LA have organised a set date. I said to Kelly thanks but not thanks, as there is no way I would be able to keep a straight face and take it seriously. Of all places in LA, if there is no decent men here, would hate to think what LA has to offer!

MY PUSSY

My beloved "Moggie Lee" cat, she has passed away now, and I loved my cat, she was fluffy, cuddly, playful, always up to mischief, and humongous (people use ask, was she on steroid's!).

Moggie Lee turned up on the door step one day, walked inside as if she owned the place and never left. When I took photo's to get developed of Moggie Lee at AMCAL Chemist they asked if they could put he up in window as photo of the week, I was proud as punch. Bless your little soul Moggie Lee.

BACK LUCK ZACH FROM BB

I so wanted Zach to win BB last night, he lost out to Aleisha by 2%. Deep down I knew Aleisha would win but Zach was more deserving.

Last night watching BB I was getting so pisst having to: waiting, waiting waiting for them to announce the winner because of the delay in voting

I hear on the grapevine that the computers crashed so they made excuses about it was taking a long time to count the votes because so many people voted, apparently they took the votes on the last count before it crashed - if that is so - that is not fair, they should of made them both winners.

HELPING OUT A FRIEND

Yesterday this guy came into our office (lets call him Mr. X), one of the girls said that he was cute and she always fancied him. She then asked me to ask Mr. X if he wanted to go out and have a drink with her, I told her next time I see him I will.

Today Mr. X was back in the office - I said to him I have something to ask you - One of the girls would like to know if you would go out and have a drink with her - his answer? - MAYBE and took off.

The girl came out of her office and wanted to know Mr. X's response was, which I told her - she said, so does that means no - I said yes.

I told her I would be really embarrassed if someone said no to me, I would not be able to face that person.

So she phoned Mr. X to tell him that she was sorry for getting someone else to do that for her and no hard feelings. Me being miss sticky beak wanted to know what he said, but when she phoned this guy, his phone went straight to message bank where she left her message.

PS: Check these cool guys out below! Now these men are hot, hot, hot! We need guys like this in our town :-)

LITTLE MISS PIGGY

No wonder why I am a little piggy, because I eat like one! The Dental Nurse, Lisa made this chocolate cake yesterday and we did the testing taste for her, not content in having one piece, no I have to be a glutton and have 3 pieces, not small pieces either, while eating I thoroughly enjoy, then afterwards I think shit "once on the lips forever on the hips"! No wonder why I am not losing anything - also have been too scared to hop on scales because I know deep down what the outcome will be (I normally weigh in once a week - but have not done for nearly 3 weeks). I blame the winter for my eating binges - I just have to eat, thank god I go to the gym otherwise I would look like an over sized sumo wrestler-if that is possible! I know I shouldn't blame the weather as that is just an excuse as not to blame myself. I'd love to go on one of the shows, like Celebrity Overhaul, the only problem is I am not a celebrity.

PS: I have just been over to the post - and I got a parcel - love parcels - thanks Odi, now I can pamper myself.

AC - YOU WILL SHIT IT IN

AC came into the office today as she had an interview for DON's (Director of Nursing) position at the hospital, she looked very suave dressed up as I normally only see her in uniform or gym wear. I know she would of went well in the interview (she didn't even look nervous when she came into the office - if she was she was hiding it pretty well!)

AC will not know for another 2/3 weeks if she has got the position - I am hoping she does! Now it is the waiting game for her.

MICHELLE - YOU WERE GREAT FOR THE HOUSE

Michelle was evicted from BB last night - I will miss her liveliness in the house, she made me laugh . She was loud, a stirrer, tells them how it is, didn't pussy foot around anyone, always up for a laugh, a bit of mischief and didn't mind giving big brother what for too. That's what they needed in the house someone to liven the place up as the rest of them are pretty dull and boring. She made the house interesting and entertaining.

Odi I know you only watched this show in Sydney as you don't get BB in Darwin and you knew her years ago and she was the same then - but I think she was a breath of fresh air to the show. YOU ROCK MICHELLE, LOVIN YA SICK!

FEELING THE PAIN

Played netball yesterday against Laverton and a few minutes into the 2nd quarter down I go from a kick into my calf muscle from the girl on the opposite team - ouch the pain - wanted soooo much to cry but there were too many people around and thought I'd better be a tough cookie and not a pussy cat! (We kicked arse at nebtall defeated Laverton). I had to work up at the hospital that afternoon - not that I did anything - as I could hardly walk so most of the afternoon I was in a wheelchair to get me around - talk about looked like an invalid! Gawd I feel for people that are in constant pain.

Gym mate AC the wimp called to say she is too tired (we were doing a 7.00am session - not too early at all) - wasn't happy chappy and told her that I was calling in sick that afternoon as I was working with her, then lunch time while playing netball the above happened to me but me being the champ that I am I literally hopped along to work!!! I have to say though AC thanks for the shift it was cruisy and for helping me out, no I am not the champ you are :-) also Tiff for getting the wheelchair ready and attending to the care of my leg when I got there - thumbs up to the staff at the hospital. I will be at least hobblying around for the next few days.

NEVER AGAIN WILL I COMPLAIN!

I watched a report on TV a few nights ago in regard to Chef's in restaurants and what they do to people's food when they are not happy with their meal. This story was based in England but I am sure this happens all over the world

They showed on TV people who returned their meals because they were not happy and what some Chefs has actually done, one peed in the soup, one wipe his bum on their steak and another sprinkled pubic hair (yuk) in their burger - oh my gawd it was disgusting - that made my tummy turn.

I have on many occasions have returned my meal back to the kitchen if I am not happy, especially in regard to meat as I like my meat cooked really really well done, if there is an ounce of blood in it, straight back it goes.

After seeing that progamme I will always be grateful for what they put in front of me - because if I complain you never know what they will do to my meal, just be happy with what I got even if is not what I wanted!!

ME AND MY BIG MOUTH...........

That will teach me for opening my mouth, thinking everything is honky dory!!
Today I emailed AC bragging to her about how 1/2 day has nearly passed us and the sun is out, the sky is blue, birds are chirping and I am cruising away doing my payroll sipping on a delicious icy cold Ice Coffee, everything is going perfectly.

Since I have bragged to AC everything has gone wrong. I have been trying to download a new version for my payroll but nothing has gone right. When we have a problem with Quicken Payroll we ring our support team over east - and you can imagine what it is like at this time of the year trying to get through to them, you get a recorded message ....... "Welcome to Quicken Payroll you are listed number 11 in line, your waiting time is 1/2 hour, we will be with you as soon as we can", HELLO you just told me 1/2 an hour.

So when we do finally get through to them and thinking we have solved the problem, you hang up. Once off the phone you realise the problem is still there, so again we call them (6 times today we rang -with their usual recorded message) - Welcome to Quicken Payroll blah, blah blah , it is sooooo frustrating.

Where I work the office has only about 8 people, so it is not like a city office where there is hundreds and you have an IT man based in the office that just comes and fixes the problem straight away - no we have to deal with people thousands of miles away via phone.

As I sign off from my Blog the problem is still not solved - Oh well tomorrow is another day!!!

KOH SAUMI - THAILAND

This has definitely happened to me, and I remember this quite vividly, I was holidaying in Koh Saumi, Thailand (one of my favourite holiday islands) we were at bar, had this dress on, thought I'd looked pretty cool in it, later on in the night other people walked into the bar and there is this girl with exactly the same dress on as me, I just cringed, here I was in another part of the world and that happens, I am sure this has happened to others!

Talking of Koh Saumi, I have been there several times and so want to visit that island again, as have many fond memories of the island, I am sure it is more commercialised now. One memory was we had met this Italian man that lived in Koh Saumi (at that time there was quite a few foreigners living on the island) and he decided to cook us all a meal of spaghetti bolignase, after the meal I had said to others that I was feeling a bit light headed and so were others - well Mr Italiano added a dash of marijuana in it!- an extra herb to spice up our meal.
