TAGGED......7 THINGS

Andrea Tagged Me
Each player starts with 7 random fact/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their 7 things as well as these rules. You need to choose 7 people to get tagged (which I don't have) and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

7 Things About Me:

1. After spending 6 months overseas and arriving back home I was stripped and body searched at Perth International Airport for 5 hours, how embarrassment (that's Effie talk) - I am anti drugs - a big no no for me (a long story).

2. I can bend my thumb to touch my arm easily.

3. Loathe green beans, beans make my stomach turn and I want to throw up.

4. When I get my eyebrows plucked (prefer plucking to waxing) I find it so relaxing (weird but true).

5. If I have a shower 3 times a day I shave my legs and underarms 3 times - just a habit.

6. We had vineyards when I was younger, did not have to employ anyone to pick the grapes as there are many of us in the family and I got my right leg caught in between the tractor and trailer thingy, still have a scar on the back of my leg to this day.

7. The most famous person I have ever come across was Noah Wyle that played Dr. Carter in ER when we were in Los Angeles, USA.

MR MOBILE MAN

Went to the gym early this morning, walked into the room and there is this guy on his mobile having a full on conversation while running on the treadmill (he had his head tilted holding the phone between his ear and shoulder). Who on earth would he be talking to at this time of the morning being 6.00am - HELLO! (most people are still sleeping at that time of the morning). At one stage he was preparing to do weights and thought to myself this is going to be interesting, how the hell is he going to hold the phone while lifting weights? But no the weights got the better of him. Nearly the whole time we were there if he wasn't on the phone he was text messaging. I felt like grabbing his phone and shoving it up his backside.

YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND!

My wish list is slowly but surely being granted. My Samsung LCD Wide Screen TV has arrived plus my Sony DVD Recorder (is arriving in a weeks time). Andrea came around last night to help me set up my TV (Miss or that should be Mrs Technology, she is a whiz at everything) actually I put it together and she set up the TV stations etc, she did it in no time and if that was me I would be up all night still trying to figure it out. It is like being at the movie's now, it is sooooooo big compared to my 34cm TV - people use to comment on how small my TV was but not anymore. No I have not won lotto (I wish) but put it all on my credit card - plastic is fantastic! until you realise you have to pay if off.

HAVE YOU EVER OPENED YOUR MOUTH?

and wished you hadn't - well I have on a many occasions. On this occassion I was at my hairdressers which I have been going to for many years and there was this one hairdresser that I had seen a few times at the salon I did not know her name and I asked her when she was due to have her baby (well she looked pregnant to me) she gave me this daggering look and said "I'am Not" and at the momemt I had wished the ground would open up and swallow me and another time was at work and this cowboy had been into the office and thought he had left the building and I went down to the front office and saw his hat laying on the front counter, I said out aloud to myself "that the dirty bastard has left his hat here", then I heard this voice saying "No I Haven't" (I did not see him reading the notices on the notice board) oops again I wanted the ground to swallow me up.

"VAIO" LAS VEGAS

Hallelujah my VAIO Laptop and case has finally arrived.

PLENTY OF EXERCISE

I cut back on my IC's a few days ago I went without one for 3 days so Sunday was my treat day and I did not really enjoy my IC - which would have to be a first, only I suppose because I went to weigh in that morning and my heart just sank as I had hardly lost anything, it is so disappointing especially when you slug your guts out. I exercise at least 6 times a week, I am eating more healthier (not a junk food person hardly ever) and drinking loads more water than ever before. I have noticed my clothes fit me a little better but no change on the scales. People say go by your clothes and not the scales - but I have always gone by the scales! So a little disappointed but never the one to give up.

MONDAY
Went for an early morning walk with Andrea at 6.00am today for an hour, I just love my walks, the sunrise was picturesque (where's the camera when you need it) a bit chilly, especially on the ears - must remember my head band next time - always preferred morning exercise than evening.

SUNDAY
Did an early morning gym session at 5.00am - again with my mate Andrea. When we arrived I said to Andrea park at the front and we will go through the front door, as she was turning the corner we saw a couple of suss people entering the gym through the back way, told Andrea to drive up that way and we will do a bit of detective work, so we pulled up and they were at the door of the gym, we parked up and had the head lights on them (remembering at 5.00am it is still bloody dark) and they were just staring at us (like typical kangaroos do!). After a few minutes they went into the gym and we did not know whether to go in there or what just in case they were burglars (we thought they were "originals") they can't be breaking in as they have access to the back door, so we drove around to the front entrance and went in that way, as we entered we could hear music in the gym - then thought there is no way they are burglars. We walked into the gym (liked we wern't scared but in reality we were!!) and guess what they were gym members so we continued on with our gym session.

SATURDAY
Played a game of netball, started a few weeks ago hoping we would get a least 4 women's teams up and running but at this stage we are struggling to scrape two teams together.

CHILLY NIGHTS ARE UPON US

Winter is certainly near as the chilly nights are already here. It is time to bring out:
  • the ugg boots (for home only!)
  • the winter PJ's
  • the electric blanket
I dread the winter months as it makes me lazy, all I want to do when coming home from work is to turn on the electric blanket, hop into my pj's and jump into bed, snuggle up with some good reading material then I have trouble getting out of bed the next morning as I am so warm and comfortable and think 5 more minutes then it is 1/2 an hour and by that time I am running late for work.

Winter also makes me eat more, exercise less (for instance the past few days I have made excuses as why not to go for my walk, too cold but I will exercise at home - not happened yet!!) though I did get off my backside yesterday after work and went for my walk. I have to start thinking positive not negative just because it is cold does not mean I have to stop keeping healthy & fit.

FUNKY BED LINEN

I am into bed linen at the moment and I have just purchased some new funky bed linen from my favourite website Peter Alexander

The doona and and pillow cases are called Snow Leopard and the sheets that match the doona and pillow cases come in pink stripes , they are so soft and cosy - LOVE THEM. All I need now is a tiger to share my bed! Grrrrrrrrrr.

The Mothers Day Classic Fun/Run Walk went well last Sunday, had about 50 participants which included adults, kids and dogs. Fun was had by all.

PINK T-SHIRT

As in a previous posting I did mention about the Fun/Run Walk happening this weekend, I ordered a pink T-Shirt in a size 12 well I am not sure how they make their sizes ( I vary in sizes from 10, 12 to 14), when I received it yesterday it looked liked it should be a kids size, I just cracked up laughing. Mid-driff tops are definitely not in fashion and when I tried it on & thought oh my god it is mid-driff, what the hell do I look like a"sl-t"! If I had the body for it no problem - but I ain't no Elle McPherson!! (I wish). Nikki that is also doing the walk offered to swap her size for me, but I declined as her T-shirt is a v-neck and mine is a round neck and not into v-neck tops, thanks Nikki anyway. I am hoping I can get it to the length I want by stretching it, so have a few days of s-t-r-e-c-t-h-i-n-g before the walk. I dare not wash it just in case it SHRINKS.

PEE, PEE, PEE

I love my water but never drink enough of it and now have decided to drink more water and less Diet Coke (as Diet Coke is another addiction I have and was my main source of fluids). They say we should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, I am probably drinking a little over half that, so slowly working my way up to drinking the recommended amount. This is my 3rd day and quite happily substituted my Diet Coke for the good old water, the only problem is I am up and down to the toilet more often. Gotta go, pee time again!

GOLDEN GIFT WEEKEND - JUNE 2007

Here at work we are busy with the preparation for the annual Golden Gift Weekend, which has professional athletes from around Australia arriving in our town competing to win big bucks and gold nuggets.

Over the weekend we will also see:

  • Troy Cassar-Daley & Sara Storer (performing on Saturday night)
  • Dorothy the Dinosaur & Wags the Dog performing shows for the children
  • ARCANUS Circus - Fire Show
  • Aerial Fireworks Display
  • BMX Bicycle Demonstration
  • BBQ Breakfast
  • Horse Races & Two Up at the Race Course
  • Market Stalls
  • 50km Cycling Challenge
  • Athlete's competing throughout the day in local and non local events
We here in the office have to work over the weekend so we don't get to see much of the weekend which is a real bummer but then again someone has to do it. I am not a big fan of country and western though considering we do live in a country (outback) town, country and western is appropriate. If I had my way, someone like Jimmy Barnes or Shannon Noel would be perfect then again Ricky Martin would be right up my ally.

EVICT "TJ"

As I am an avid viewer of Big Brother I just have to vent my anger towards Darwin-ite TJ, what a pain in the arse she is, she annoys the hell out of me. I cannot believe a couple of the girls in the house said that they would hate to come across her when she is angry - god if I was in there I would be putting her back in her box. She wants to cause arguments with everyone (I am sure she likes the sound of her own voice (I don't) then she is all over them like a rash, she's a nutter no two ways about it. Every time she opens her mouth I just cringe. The sooner TJ is evicted the better.
