IT'S A HARSH CRUEL WORLD - SOMETIMES

MY MUM
I went to to see my mum in Kalgoorlie on the weekend, she is in an Aged Care Home as she has Alzheimer's and while I am there visiting I feel so guilty because I look at her and she looks like she is lonely and lost but the staff tell me she is happy and loves singing, mum still has her mobility which is a good thing. My mum remembers long term stuff but short term no. The staff there look after her well, tend to her daily needs and at the end of the day she has the 24 hour care that she requires. When I arrive I am happy to see her but when I leave it brings great sadness and tears every time. Mum did not have an easy life but certainly worked hard at it and she certainly does not deserve this. LOVE YOU MUM.

KANGAROOS, EMUS, EAGLES, GOATS & BELIEVE IT OR NOT COWS!
It is about a 2 hour trip to Kalgoorlie, not much to see along the way besides a town where you blink and you will miss it, so when driving to Kal you have to have your eyes peeled in every direction hoping you don't hit one of the above animals. I have never hit any of them but have come close to narrowly missing a roo, emu (they are so dumb) and eagles and Julie that works in our office has actually hit a cow and Tim (if you are ready this) remember when you hit the goats and you were too scared to get out of your car because they had surrounded you!!. They say when a kangaroo jumps onto the road just to hit them but my first instinct is to slam on the brakes.

NOT A HAPPY CHAPPY :-(

I rang SONY today to see if my funky VAIO laptop has been dispatched as hoping to receive it this week sometime (when I placed my order they told me they had 2 in stock) now they tell me that they are waiting for orders from Singapore and it will take another 2 weeks blah, blah, blah, why did not they tell that in the first place - no because they wanted my money!!!! This is just like the saga of my car - I ordered a new Toyota Rav 4 Cruiser in March last year, told me it would be here in April and finally in June (4 months later) it arrived. Why does this always happen to me?

DAWN SERVICE - ANZAC DAY

I attended the ANZAC Dawn Service yesterday (25.04.2007) @ 5.30am, I estimated there were about 80 people that attended. I always find these services a tad emotional. I was a little disappointed as we heard the service by radio. The RSL sub-division of town organise the ANZAC service, hopefully next year they will have a ceremony where there are readings, laying of the wreaths etc by the people of the town. The RSL did put on a delicious breakfast after the service - it was yummy.

God Bless the diggers.

THE WEEKEND

OH NO BIG BROTHER
I said to myself this year I am not going to get sucked in and watch Big Brother as I think that every year they are all the same, most of them want fame and fortune and never get it anyway. But guess what? Yep I got SUCKED IN watching it last night (as if I don't watched enough TV as it is.)

FUN RUN/WALK
Andrea and myself headed down the main street on Saturday morning parked ourselves outside of the Supermarket (Andrea is organising a Fun Run/Walk for Mother's Day 13th May 2007 with all monies going to Breast Cancer Research - I am her offsider) to see if we we could sign up any keen walkers/joggers, thought if we signed 5 people that would be good, surprisingly I think we signed up about 15 people which is fantastic, so hopefully on the day we will have about 30 avid walkers/joggers maybe more. We also received lots of donations that morning and heaps of excuses why they could not do the fun run/walk (too busy, we walk enough already, working etc etc.)

POWER BLACK OUT
The usual every time we have a bit of rain, thunder/lightning off goes the power. Watching the football (yeah the FREMANTLE DOCKERS won) off goes the power, what to do next!! Ironing - no power, read - no power, listen to music - no power, I am going mad thinking of what I can do, not a lot. Decide to drive down the street to see if everyone has power, seems they have - at this stage feeling a little peckish for PRINGLES called into Shell Roadhouse, no Pringles so TWISTIES will have to do. Arrive back home - you beauty, power back on, life is back to normal.

JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER WOMAN

Well 90% of the women I know - that want to lose weight and feel good. I hate that word diet I prefer to say "keeping fit and healthy". I walk about an hour a day at least 5 times a week (like the outdoors and fresh air) and fit in a gym session every now and then. When I see and hear others that have lost weight I think that is fantastic a little envious but over the moon for them. I know I will never be a skinny mini nor do I wish to as I would rather myself have a bit of meat on me than be skin and bones. I know my down fall and that is those bloody ice coffees I am addicted to, I wish they would take them off the market!! I just want to lose another 7 kilos - it does not sound a lot but it takes a hell of a long time to get there, once achieved I know I will feel much happier in myself and my clothes will just fit me perfectly without me having to hold my guts in etc. IT WON'T HAPPEN OVER NIGHT BUT IT WILL HAPPEN!

FLIES, FLIES, BLOODY FLIES............

My walking partner Tiff and the kids (the dogs: Boobs & Wombie) whom I normally walk with have gone away for a few days with hubby Ben to visit her grandparents, so my walk was on my lonesome yesterday - cool, no problem at all - Ipod on and off I trotted, WELL attack of the FLIES had hit me, they were in my face the whole time, here I am waving my hands everywhere and swearing away trying to get rid of them (not that the FLIES took any notice they just kept coming back for more) it was that unbearable at one stage I thought to myself I can't do this but I soldiered on. I am sure I looked like a mad woman just let out of a mental asylum to the people driving by. Glad to get home.

I had made plans to go to the gym this morning with Andrea (my early morning gym partner) at 6.00am but overslept - oops sorry Andrea.

WISH LIST

One of my items on my "WISH LIST" has come true - I have just purchased a funky new Sony VAIO Laptop (for home - never had one before) in a groovy colour called "Spring Green" with a matching case to go with it, cannot wait to receive it (will take up to 2 weeks) .

I can see what is going to happen - no house work done, up till all hours of the night blogging, surfing the net, running late for work the next day as not enough sleep - BRING IT ON I SAY! I think my laptop is going to take over my life as at present I use my work one.

So now I have my Blog page pretty much how I want it - (I would not mind a Beach Template- have searched for beach templates but nothing takes my fancy) I expect to Blog at least every week not every 2 months - hopefully!!
